"TV Dinners" is a song by Texas rock band ZZ Top, taken from their eighth studio album, 1983's diamond Eliminator.
It is a simple, beat-driven tune with humorous lyrics about pre-packaged, microwavable meals. Released as a single, it reached #38 on the Billboard Top Rock Tracks chart.
The song was produced by band manager Bill Ham, and recorded and mixed by Terry Manning.
A music video was made, utilizing both live action and claymation. It is interesting to note that bassist Dusty Hill plays a Vox Continental organ in the video and both Hill and drummer Frank Beard do not wear sunglasses (a trademark ZZ Top accessory).
20 years later, Robert Palmer sung TV Dinners with ZZ Top on his album Drive (2003)[1]
